Oracle Unveils First Publicly Accessible AI Supercluster Powered by AMD Instinct MI450 GPU

October 15, 2025 – Oracle and AMD made a groundbreaking announcement on the 14th (local time in the US) that Oracle’s cloud service platform, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), is set to be the first in the industry to offer publicly accessible AI superclusters powered by AMD Instinct MI450 series graphics accelerators.

The new supercluster in OCI will feature AMD’s “Helios” liquid-cooled rack design. It combines the MI450 GPU with EPYC “Venice” GPUs, Pensando “Vulcano” DPUs, along with UALoE vertical scaling and UEC horizontal scaling capabilities.

Deployment of the supercluster will kick off in the third quarter of 2026, with an initial rollout of 50,000 MI450 GPUs. Looking ahead, there are plans for a gradual expansion of the supercluster starting from 2027 and beyond. This move is poised to set a new benchmark in the field of AI cloud computing, offering unparalleled performance and scalability for AI workloads.
